About Us
When I was expecting my youngest child, the thought of special needs never crossed my mind. And when Colton was born with Down syndrome, accepting that reality didn’t come easily.
Like many new parents navigating an unexpected diagnosis, I was handed stacks of medical papers filled with worst-case scenarios—cold statistics, clinical language, and a future that seemed stripped of hope.
But deep down, I knew there had to be more.
I went searching—not for more data, but for stories. For hope. For families who had walked this same road and could tell me, “It’s going to be okay.” I wanted to see joy, love, and purpose reflected in their journeys. And slowly, I began to find it. Not in the pages of medical literature, but in the hearts of parents like me—who had chosen to see the miracle instead of the limitation.
In 2013, I founded Special Miracles as a promise to myself—and to Colton. I would be his biggest advocate. His loudest cheerleader. His safe place and strongest ally.
What started as a personal journey soon became a mission: to change the narrative around Down syndrome. I wanted to create a space where families could find community, encouragement, and truth. Not the outdated version of what life with Down syndrome looks like—but the real one, filled with joy, progress, challenges, and extraordinary love.
Today, Special Miracles is the largest social media platform of its kind—promoting Down syndrome awareness, inclusion, and celebration one product, one story, and one connection at a time.
Our growing community of parents, educators, advocates, and friends continues to prove every day that differences are not deficits—and every child is capable of something amazing.
We believe in possibility. We believe in people.
And we believe that every life is a special miracle.
